Sermon Series: Hebrews: Rediscovering Jesus
Teacher: Rev. Nora Conner
Scripture: Hebrews 8:1-13
Big Idea: Because Jesus is the great true high priest and is perfect forever, he is the author of a better hope and the mediator of a new covenant with better promises.
Key Points:
- Jesus is great because of the source of his priestly commission.
- Jesus is great because of where he is; Jesus is exalted above the heavens and is in the true “tent” that is set up by God, not by humans.
- Jesus is great because of the offering he brought as high priest–his own life.
- Jesus is great because of the benefits of his ministry; his ministry is more excellent because his sacrifice fully mends the human spirit.
