Sunday, March 20, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Bluegrass Opera is proud to welcome the 2016 Easter season with a moving musical celebration! Now, for the first time, we are thrilled to make our performances FREE to the public! So call your family and friends, and join us on March 20 and share in the blessing of this inspired work of art!

“King of Glory” is an uplifting oratorio that tells the story of the passion and resurrection of Jesus Christ using lush, colorful harmonies and melodies that will stick with listeners long after the performance ends! The work was premiered in 2014, and audiences have been raving about it ever since. Imagine Handel’s “Messiah,” but for today’s church-goers — and it features some of the most talented and versatile singers in central Kentucky!

“King of Glory” includes text from both the Old and New Testaments, and weaves together a variety of musical styles, from classical choral to contemporary song. In every case, the music brings the text to life in a vivid, visceral way that keeps listeners on the edge of their seats!

– Sunday, March 20, 2016, 6:30 p.m. ― St. Luke UMC
(2351 Alumni Dr., Lexington)

Again, the performance of “King of Glory” is FREE! If you’re moved by the piece, donations will be gratefully accepted, but there is no charge for admission. We can’t wait to see you there!
