About the Church
Where is the church located?
St. Luke is at 2351 Alumni Drive in Lexington, Kentucky. The main entrance is on the Alumni Drive side. Enter Door 1 to be close to the Sanctuary, or Door 3 to be closer to our Sunday School rooms, children and youth spaces.
The St. Luke community is a large and growing one, averaging about 100-150 people per service on Sunday Mornings. We also have a large online community that worships with us all across the country and the world.
Much like the city of Lexington, Kentucky, where we are located, the St. Luke community includes a broad spectrum of folks. It includes people of varying ages and ethnicities, backgrounds, professions, gifts and talents. We gather to worship Jesus Christ, enjoy fellowship, deepen relationships, and find hope, healing and wholeness as we do life together.

Worship
There are four services on Sundays: two traditional services (8:20 and 11 a.m.), a contemporary service (9:30 a.m.) in the Gym, and a Swahili service (1 p.m.). The 9:30 and 11 a.m. services are also live streamed.
Nope. Everyone is welcome at St. Luke. Our community reflects a wide variety of style preference from suit and tie to jeans and flip flops, and our Swahili worshippers like to dress in the colorful traditions of their native countries.
When it comes to our services, we are committed to practical, Biblical teaching in an atmosphere where people can freely worship the Lord. While there is variety among our Sunday services, common elements they share include music, scripture reading, prayer time, testimonials and the weekly message from one of our pastors.
Yes! As we say in our Invitation to the communion table at St. Luke: “Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin, and seek to be at peace with one another.”
We offer communion on the first Sunday of the month. All baptized Christians, of any age (including infants) and any Christian denomination are welcome to Christ's table. We offer grape juice with wafer crackers, with gluten free elements available.

Children and Youth
Kindergarten through 5th-grade students attend the 9:30 or 11 a.m. worship service with their family, and after the children’s message, they will be escorted to the Loft for either Power Hour (during the 9:30 service) or God’s Backyard (during the 11 services).
God's Backyard is our special worship service for Kindergarteners through 5th graders. We have a large group time that includes prayer, scripture, and a children's lesson. The kids then have small group time to discern how the lesson works in real life.
We offer a nursery for those under 2 years old during the three morning worship services.
Preschool children (ages 2 - 4) also meet for activities during three-morning services.

Missions and Outreach
Some of the St. Luke Ministry Teams deal with the functional and operational tasks of the church (the trustees handle facilities-related issues, for example), other teams deal with specific areas (worship/music, hospitality/events, children’s and teens ministry, missions/outreach, etc.), and one group deals with visioning and big-picture tasks. We need a variety of people to help us continue to improve, and if you are interested in joining one of these groups, contact our Discipleship Pastor.
There are a number of missions and outreach efforts the St. Luke community undertakes.
Many of the offerings are aimed at people in Lexington, and specifically, the area around the church. There is a God’s Pantry on-site, open Monday to Friday, that provides food assistance to those in need. St. Luke also partners with a number of other local organizations—Lexington Rescue Mission, Common Good, and Habitat for Humanity, among others—providing funds and volunteers to help with their outreach. There are English as a Second Language (ESL) classes offered at the church.
Additionally, we support career missionaries who have dedicated their lives to Christian service in places across the globe such as the Philippines, Costa Rica, Uruguay, and Nicaragua.
St. Luke distributes food as part of the God’s Pantry network of food banks. The pantry at St. Luke is open Monday to Friday. For our current operating hours, visit our God's Pantry Page
Lexington/Fayette County residents must be referred to God’s Pantry to receive food from a pantry outlet, including the one at St. Luke. To learn more about getting a referral for emergency food assistance in Fayette County, contact God’s Pantry’s intake staff at 859-259-2308 or visit www.godspantry.org/help
We do offer financial help for those in emergency-need situations. Recipients need to live within St. Luke’s zip code (40517), and they need to fill out an application—available through the church office.
