Lent is the six-weeks leading up to Easter, during which we focus on preparing our hearts and lives through prayer, repentance of sin, giving of alms, atonement, and self-denial for the resurrected Lord. Lent begins with Ash Wednesday (February 14) and ends Holy Saturday (March 30).

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday Service

February 14th at 12:00pm
Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the Lenten Season in the Church.

This year, we invite you to come to a midday worship service on Ash Wednesday, February 14 at 12:00pm in the Sanctuary. This service will include a service of confession, prayers for healing and anointing oil, and the traditional Imposition of Ashes.

If you are unable to attend in person, we will be livestreaming and recording the service with a special personal and interactive element during the Imposition of Ashes and from 5:30-6:30pm that evening we will be holding a come-and-go time Imposition of Ashes that is open to anyone.

40 cans in 40 days

Once again this year, we are undertaking a joint partnership with St. Luke Catholic Church in Nicholasville to support God’s Pantry.

The plan is simple: bring in 40 cans of food for God’s Pantry during Lent, commit to pray for our friends at St. Luke Catholic church as they pray for us, read Scripture, serve at the pantry if possible, and fast.

Learn more, find scriptures to read, and information about food donations here.
