In the church

Hospitality Team

The hospitality team serves mostly on Sunday morning and includes greeting people, being a host at one of our Welcome Desks, helping to set up/tear down at events, ushering and helping people find seats for worship.

Tech/A.V. Team

The Tech/A.V. team mostly serves on Sunday mornings. This includes many fun and exciting opportunities including running slides for worship lyrics, hosting the live stream videos and manning robotic video cameras with a joystick, and running and mixing and preparing the sound system for worship services and events.

Asset 1

Children's Ministry

There are several opportunities within Children's Ministry including help during God's Backyard and Power Hour on Sunday morning, help during events, and more.

Asset 2

Youth Ministry

Come and volunteer with 6th-12th graders! We meet in the Youth Room on Sunday mornings and on Sunday nights as well.

Whether you are a musician, a vocalist, interested in leading in liturgy or prayer, candle lighting, serving communion, or want to worship in a new way, we have space for you!

In the community

God's Pantry

We could use your help stocking supplies and serving clients on at least one day a week Mondays - Fridays,  3:00-5:00PM at the church.

Both Common Good and the Nathaniel Mission have several opportunities to mentor and tutor kids from neighborhoods around Lexington. These are after school programs that need your help one day a week for 2-3.5 hours.

Habitat for Humanity

We partner with Habitat for Humanity Lexington to periodically provide hands on construction work (no experience necessary) on local builds. There are also Habitat ReStore's where proceeds support the mission of Lexington Habitat. We rely on volunteers to help with a variety of tasks such as sorting, organizing and pricing merchandise.

Lexington Rescue Mission

Serve a meal once a week at noon, help job seekers with employments opportunities, deliver furniture to recently housed persons, build friendships, be a mentor, and visit jails and detention centers.

Nathaniel Mission

We would love to have you partner with us in reaching out in love to our neighbors at the Nathaniel Mission.  It's our goal to match your unique passions and skills with an opportunity to serve that makes a difference in our community.   Individuals and groups are encouraged to express their interest in volunteering using the form below.  We look forward to our working with you!

In the World

Short-term Local Trips

This includes trips in Kentucky and surrounding states and includes work such as disaster relief, donation delivery and sorting, and more.

Short-term International Trips

We have taken teams of people on mission trips to Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, and Peru where we have partnered with local missionaries to do work projects, teaching,

Cleaning Buckets

We keep a consistent supply of Cleaning Buckets to send (through UMCOR) to areas affected by natural disasters like flooding and tornadoes. We often have a need for donations and opportunities to assemble buckets.

Christmas Shoeboxes

In the fall we begin collecting donations of gifts and hygiene supplies to put together as Christmas gifts (in shoeboxes!) for our international partners through United Methodist Committee on Relief. We will also put together a packing party where we assemble these boxes before we send them on their way.
