Spiritual Gardening Becoming More Like Christ

Published Dec 19, 2024 | Last updated December 24, 2024

Have you ever thought of yourself as a “spiritual gardener?” Spiritual gardening is a way to think about how we can grow to be more like Christ. In this process, the “weeds” of our lives, such as anger and pride, must be uprooted and replaced with “good plants” like gentleness and humility. Just as a gardener’s work prepares the soil for growth, our obedience prepares our hearts for the Holy Spirit to transform our character. This class draws on wisdom from Scripture and the Eastern Fathers of the Church to help us in our daily walk with God. No textbook is needed, and sessions will include presentations as well as time for small group discussion.

Join us Wednesdays, Jan. 22–Feb. 26, 6:30–8 PM, for Spiritual Gardening: Becoming More Like Christ led by Dr. Jim Sigountos. Discover how to uproot our vices with and replace them with virtues through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. All are welcome!
