Thank You, St. Luke Church!


We want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to St. Luke Church for your generosity and compassion toward the people we serve at Lexington Rescue Mission.


Because of your church, 201 pairs of shoes were donated for our Step into Wellness event. In total, we were able to provide 375 pairs of shoes to people experiencing homelessness and others in our community who are struggling, and St. Luke provided the majority of those shoes.
But these shoes were about so much more than footwear.


For someone experiencing homelessness, a new pair of shoes can mean relief from pain, protection from injury, and the ability to take another step forward. It can restore a sense of dignity and remind someone that they are seen, valued, and cared for.
Your generosity made a tremendous impact.


At Lexington Rescue Mission, we believe that meeting physical needs is an important part of reaching people with compassion and helping them rebuild their lives. We do not simply want to provide a meal, a pair of shoes, or a place to receive assistance. We want people to know they are not forgotten that their lives have value, and that there is hope for a different future.


That is why your partnership matters so much.


Because of St. Luke, hundreds of people were able to walk away with something they needed but more importantly, they experienced the kindness of people who were willing to step up and say, “You matter. We care about you.”

Thank you for seeing a need in our community and responding with such incredible generosity. Thank you for standing alongside Lexington Rescue Mission as we seek to serve hurting people, restore dignity, build relationships, and ultimately help people rebuild their lives on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ.

St. Luke Church, you did not just donate 201 pairs of shoes. You helped give people an opportunity to take another step forward.
