Special Friends Ministry Coming This February
Special Friends Ministry Coming This February
We’re excited to share a new step in the life of our church with the launch of Special Friends, a ministry designed to support children and individuals with special needs here at St. Luke.
Starting this February, we’ll be opening newly renovated spaces in our upstairs Children’s Ministry area, including a modified classroom and a sensory room designed to be a calm, supportive and low-stimulation environment. Each Sunday at 9:30 AM, our Special Friends will begin worship with our Children’s Ministry and then move into tailored instructional time with the support they need.
Each participant will be paired with a trained buddy who offers one-on-one care in a safe, loving, and developmentally appropriate setting, allowing parents and guardians to fully participate in worship with peace of mind.
We’re asking for two things. First, would you prayerfully consider serving as a buddy in this ministry? And second, do you know a family or individual who might benefit from a church community that makes space for everyone?
