Jesus, the Son of God, came into our world of space and time, took on our flesh and blood, and bore our sin and suffering that we might be reconciled to God and one another.

After his bodily resurrection, he ascended to heaven, and, according to Hebrews 7:25, Jesus now is interceding on our behalf. By Jesus’ example, we realize that intercession is one of the highest forms of ministry.

You are encouraged to share in the ministry of intercessory prayer with Jesus on behalf of five of your FRANs (Friends, Relatives, Associates and Neighbors) for 40 days beginning Sunday, May 17 and continuing through June 25.

A resource, “40 Days of Prayer and Preparation,” will guide you as you meditate on themes, scripture, wisdom from John and Charles Wesley, and intercede for these five persons with the printed prayers each day.

At the end of 40 days, you then will share with your “five FRANs” about your experience as you have been praying for them and ask how you can continue to encourage and pray for them.

Intercession is simply coming before God on behalf of others and coming before others on behalf of God.
