“God has a plan.”
“It’s all in God’s plan.”
“God has a plan for your life.”
“Could it be this is part of God’s plan?”

Whether people know it or not, we are all trying to understand, know, and live into God’s plan. Why? Simple. Within the will of God we find grace, peace, and a deep sense of purpose.

Key Points

1. God’s Will Has Always Been Jesus

Before the foundation of the world, God chose to redeem and adopt us through Christ. The will of God isn’t hidden or confusing, it’s revealed clearly in the person of Jesus. His life, death, and resurrection are the centerpiece of God’s plan.

2. Grace is Lavished, not earned!

Ephesians 1 tells us that grace is lavished upon us, not just given in small measure. It’s overwhelming, generous, and undeserved. We are chosen, adopted, forgiven, and redeemed, all through God’s grace.

3. Our Identity and Purpose Flow from His Will

When we understand God’s will, we begin to understand who we are and what we’re here for. We are heirs of the promise, included in God’s plan to bring grace and peace to the world. His plan becomes our purpose.

Application Questions

Is there a place in your life where God might be calling you to extend grace and peace to others?

Where in your life do you tend to overcomplicate God’s will?

How does it change your perspective to see grace as something “lavished” on you?

What would it look like this week to live as someone chosen and included in God’s plan?
